In 1914, the leading desire of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was internal development.  Past General President Bro. Dickason said that Brothers must, "Think Alpha Phi Alpha, talk Alpha Phi Alpha, promote Alpha Phi Alpha, and labor for the broad principles of idealism for which Alpha Phi Alpha was created, so that humanity shall look on us as a body worthwhile".  Over a century later, that leaven of self-examination is my driving priority.  Theta Lambda Chapter, chartered in 1921, has housed Dayton’s first Black Mayor, past School Board Presidents, a variety of doctors, lawyers, engineers, and other professionals, and advised some of the strongest student leaders at the University of Dayton and Wright State University.  While we have a rich history, it cannot define our relevance but rather provide the foundation for our current and future contributions.  As the President of this House of Alpha, it is my goal to be intentional in our partnerships in order to truly make us the strongest organization of Black men in the city of Dayton, Ohio..
